Why Benchmark Teaching and Learning?
Higher education is becoming increasingly scrutinized for its performance in providing its core mission: teaching and learning. Higher education accrediting bodies and coordinating boards are asking institutions to prove that they are holding themselves accountable to best practices in teaching and learning and engaging in continual quality improvement processes. The first step in that process is to identify what is working well and not so well.
